Switch to Recycled Toilet Paper!
Approximately 80% of the world’s original forests are already destroyed or degraded: Canada’s Boreal forests represent almost a quarter of what is left. These rich and beautiful forests are filled with wildlife but they are under siege. Kimbery Clark alone uses more than 1.1 million cubic meters of trees from Canada’s boreal forest each year to make toilet paper and other tissue products.
If every household in the United States replaced just one roll of virgin fiber toilet paper with 100% recycled ones, we could save 423,900 trees. Note: Kimberley Clark’s Scott, Kleenex, Cottonelle and Viva brand products contains NO recycled materials. Learn more about items that are recyclable.
Recycled tissue products can be purchased at Wild Oats, Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Sprouts, and some of the major grocery chains.
Extra Credit!!! Ask your store to carry recycled tissue and paper towels.
